And the sun rises
We reach mahabaleshwar early morning. Hotel Sapna was the name of the hotel if my memory serves me right. We fill in the register and everyone unpacks in their rooms. The toilets were good so I definitely wasn't complaining. It seemed that each room had a predefined task (yeah overdose of computer jargon). Our room was destined to be the party room. Saurin took out the hookah and with Ralston's expertise in the field, we were all puffing away at some strawberry flavoured smoke. Some newcomers to the world of smoke inhaling also tried it which was a real funny experience seeing them cough or complain that they inhaled smoke, but couldn't exhale any!!
A few hours later breakfast was served with some really milky coffee (too milky to even be called a latte). The overtly oily breakfast was good enough since we hadn't eaten anything since the previous night.
Following breakfast we decided to check out the hill station. Table mountain was the first place we attacked. Checked out this killer cave which was so damn cool, especially with the midday sun beating down on us. The others decided to entertain themselves by going paragliding, riding ponies and eating ice creams. It kinda bored me, but fun to just chill out with friends, most of whom never even come for trips with us.
We headed back to the hotel after that. People seemed a bit too tired to go on. Now unfortunately it turned out to be Holi that day in Mahabaleshwar. And a bunch of drunken retards were blocking the entry to the hotel. A bribe had to be paid to one of em fags so that we could get in without getting wet and splattered with chemicals. There were casualties however with Mr.Amy getting a dose of water and colour. He should have asked em for Bhang following that tragedy.
Lunch was mediocre and since i hate most veg food, I couldn't be bothered eating too much of it. Most of the people rested that afternoon.
In the evening, a few of us decided to go check out a guesthouse while the rest under Saurin's leadership, went trekking some other place. Both groups had loads of fun and we all met up late in the evening. On the way back, I had some killer strawberry milkshake and some strawberries with fresh cream. Good stuff!
Back to the hotel and it was party time. More on that in upcoming posts
